Silas Goodman

Halfheart is the original soundtrack from Marie-Celeste McNiven’s 2019 short film of the same name. Drawing inspiration from Vaporwave and The xx, I wished to reflect the film’s sad, nostalgic, and almost dreamlike tone established through the recurring red and blue color motifs. It was an opportunity to further experiment with synthesizers, rich reverberation, and heavy side-chain compression.
