Amontillado is the original soundtrack from Thomas Cross’ 2018 short film of the same name, based on Edgar Allan Poe's classic The Cask of Amontillado. In my second venture into the realm of electronic music, following the unreleased soundtrack to my short film Save the Cat!, I experimented with the combination of synthesizers and distortion to achieve the desired dark and ominous tone. The score is heavily inspired by the works of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, in particular their soundtracks for The Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and Gone Girl.
